Job summary

MoDOT in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Maintenance Crew Leader to supervise a highway maintenance crew, set up work zones, and oversee ongoing roadway projects. You will also operate and oversee maintenance equipment, manage materials and records, and inspect bridges and roadways to gauge progress.

The role requires a High School diploma, a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement, five years of relevant experience, and completion of a work simulation and medical exam. Uniforms provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and interstate status.
• Five years of roadway, roadside, bridge or sign maintenance experience.
• Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Leads maintenance crews, sets up work zones, and performs highway maintenance tasks.
• Operates highway maintenance equipment (tractors, dozers, loaders, trucks, graders, snowplows).
• Oversees material usage and may prepare reports; maintains employee records.
• Inspects bridges and roadways to assess maintenance needs and progress.
• Oversees routine maintenance of equipment, buildings and grounds.
