Job summary

South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a supervisor to lead a crew responsible for mowing grass along road shoulders, cutting brush, and maintaining backslopes. The position requires 3.5 years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain a Class A CDL within six months.

Qualifications

• 3.5 years of related work experience or equivalent.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license required.
• Must obtain Class A CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a crew to mow grass on shoulders and to cut brush behind ditch lines and on backslopes.
• Prepares time sheets, rating sheets, reports, records and other data related to employees supervised and work performed.
• Supervises a crew to patch potholes, make asphalt surface repairs.
• Serves as the main on-call contact; handles emergency road work and public inquiries/complaints.
• May be required to work outside normal schedules during inclement weather or emergencies.
