The State of South Carolina’s Department of Transportation is seeking a Crew Foreman for the Orangeburg maintenance team. You will supervise a crew of Highway Maintenance Workers, coordinate pothole repairs, drainage projects, and right‑of‑way maintenance, and ensure accurate reporting and timekeeping.

The role includes on‑call duties and supervising during severe weather events. A Class A CDL is required within six months of placement, and the position demands physical fitness to lift up to 50

Qualifications

• 3.5 years of related work experience or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license required; Class A CDL within 6 months.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Must complete the state application with accurate history.

Responsabilités

• Supervises a crew of Highway Maintenance Workers on the Work Request Crew.
• Oversees pothole patching, right-of-way clearing, ditch and drainage work, and driveway installation.
• Handles corrective actions for damage to property as needed.
• Maintains weekly and monthly reports, time sheets, and cost records.
• Provides on-call coverage and oversees crew during hazardous weather events.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
