Job summary

Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. is seeking a Traffic Signal/Lighting Trainee to perform electrical work for building traffic signals and roadway lighting.

You will assist technicians and foremen, learn basic signal and lighting construction, and work outdoors on roadways including trenching, conduit placement, and pole foundations. The position emphasizes safety, using hand tools, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• CDL permit level or above recommended but not required upon hire.
• Must be able to acquire Class A CDL within 6 months of hire.
• 1+ years of experience recommended but not required.
• Valid driver's license
• Own your own hand tools
• Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screening

Responsibilities

• Assisting technicians and foreman with daily task
• Learning basic task to build traffic signals and roadway lighting
• Trenching and placing conduit, building electrical services, concrete foundations for signal poles and lighting poles, installing wire, and making connections
• Operate tools and equipment according to company and OSHA safety procedures
• Versatile to work in outdoor setting and roadways
