Job summary

Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. in Kentucky is seeking a Traffic Signal/Lighting Trainee to learn building traffic signals and roadway lighting. You will assist technicians and foremen, perform foundational electrical tasks, and travel as needed.

The program emphasizes safety and hands-on training, including trenching, conduit placement, foundations, wiring, and connections. You will work outdoors on roadways, using provided tools and PPE, with opportunities to advance as CDL is pursued.

Qualifications

• CDL permit level or higher recommended, but not required upon hire. Must be able to acquire a Class A CDL within 6 months of hire
• 1+ Years of experience recommended but not required
• Own your own hand tools
• Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screening

Responsibilities

• Willingness to travel and assist technicians with daily tasks
• Learn basic tasks to build traffic signals and roadway lighting
• Perform trenching, conduit placement, electrical services, foundations for signal poles and lighting poles, wiring and connections
• Operate tools and equipment per safety procedures
• Work outdoors on roadways in various conditions
