Job summary

Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. is seeking a Traffic Signal/Lighting Trainee to support building traffic signals and roadway lighting. You will assist technicians, learn core installation tasks, and perform foundational electrical work in outdoor settings across job sites.

This role requires readiness to travel, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening. It offers an opportunity to join our Lineman Apprenticeship program and advance within our team.

Qualifications

• CDL permit preferred but not required.
• 1+ years of experience recommended but not required.
• Must be able to travel for job.
• Must obtain Medical driving certification.
• Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians and foremen with daily tasks.
• Learn basic tasks to build traffic signals and roadway lighting.
• Perform tasks such as trenching, conduit placement, building electrical services, and foundations for poles and lighting.
• Operate tools and equipment according to safety procedures.
• Work outdoors and on roadways.

Job Description

As a Traffic Signal/Lighting Trainee you will be required to perform all types of electrical work for building traffic signals and roadway lighting. As part of the day-to-day responsibilities you will be completing the following:

• Assisting technicians and foreman with daily task
• Learning basic task to build traffic signals and roadway lighting
• Potential task to be performed are as follows; trenching and placing conduit, building electrical services, concrete foundations for signal poles and lighting poles, installing wire, and making connections.
• Operate tools and equipment according to company and OSHA safety procedures
• Versatile to work in outdoor setting and roadways.
