Job summary

MoDOT is seeking a maintenance worker to perform routine, entry-level duties related to the maintenance of the state's roadways and facilities under direct supervision. The job offers opportunities for CAREER-LADDER advancement as skills and experience grow.

Responsibilities include patching potholes, flagging traffic, repairing signs and guardrails, operating light and heavy equipment, and assisting with winter operations. Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications and pass required exams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• CDL Class B with tanker endorsement and interstate status within 60 days after hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain state highway systems: patch potholes, crack filling, debris removal.
• Flag traffic, set up signs and cones, ensure safety of worksites.
• Repair and maintain road signs, guardrails, curbs, and equipment.
• Operate vehicles and machinery for transportation and winter operations.
• May assist with bridge work and sign installations as needed.
