Job summary

CALTRANS seeks an Equipment Operator II in Riverside County to maintain the state highway system and facilities. Under supervision, you will operate maintenance, construction and landscape equipment while holding a valid Class A CDL with Tank Vehicle (N) endorsement and a current medical certificate.

This permanent, full-time position may require alternate shifts, overtime, and possible assignments to other cost centers.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with Tank Vehicle (N) endorsement.
• Current medical certificate.
• Ability to work alternate shifts including weekends and holidays.
• May be loaned to other cost centers and is represented under collective bargaining.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of maintenance, construction and landscape equipment.
• Under supervision, perform duties to maintain the State highway system and facilities.
• Respond to emergencies and possible overtime including nights, weekends, and holidays.
