Job summary

STV has an immediate need in our South Carolina offices for a Roadway Engineering Specialist in our Transportation division.

The successful candidate will provide professional design services for transportation improvement projects for municipal agencies, local governments, and SCDOT, including schematic/functional designs, roadway geometry, drainage, work zone traffic control, pavement markings, and signing.

Qualifications

• 0–4 years of experience in roadway design
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required
• EIT is preferred
• Experience/interships in design of intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, or bike/ped facilities
• Experience with Microstation, Geopak, and Open Roads Designer preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills for client interaction
• Drainage, erosion control, and utility coordination experience a plus

Job description

STV has an immediate need in our South Carolina offices for a Roadway Engineering Specialist in our Transportation division. The successful candidate will:

• Provide professional design services for transportation improvement projects for municipal agencies, local governments, and SCDOT.
• Provide schematic/functional designs, roadway geometry, roadway details, drainage, work zone traffic control, pavement markings, and signing for transportation infrastructure.
• Assist with Utility Coordination on an as-needed basis on small and mid-sized projects.
• Interact with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams.
• Design experience using MicroStation, Geopak, and Open Roads (ORD) is preferred. Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus.
• Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget
• Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
• Work with practice and office leadership, client development, business development and industry participation to advance your career and STV's growth.
• Attend productive project meetings both within STV and with clients.
• Establish working relationships and interface with client technical staff and client project managers

The ideal candidate is an individual who is a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and possesses a strong initiative to learn SCDOT practices, checklists, and roadway plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 0-4 years of experience in technical aspects of roadway design
• Minimum bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required. New graduates and upcoming graduates are encouraged to apply.
• EIT is preferred
• Experience or prior internships in design of intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, or bike/ped facilities.
• Experience with using Microstation, Geopak, and Open Roads Designer is preferred.
• Strong inter-personal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction
• Drainage, erosion control, and utility coordination experience is a plus

Compensation Range

$64,848.58 - $74,112.66
