Job summary

Parsons in Minneapolis is hiring a Roadway Engineer II to join our team on major transportation projects. You will independently develop and supervise contract documents, define scope, establish budgets and schedules, plan work, provide technical direction, and report progress.

The role requires a Master's in Civil Engineering, 5+ years of experience, CAD proficiency, and DOT road design expertise. You will mentor junior staff and grow toward leading project development in the future.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate may be required.
  • Proficiency with CAD and road design software.
  • Experience with 3D finite element models.
  • DOT road and wall design experience.

Responsibilities

  • Independently develop and/or supervise creation of contract documents for transportation projects meeting client quality requirements.
  • Analyze design issues and provide detail design.
  • Deliver products including calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design/installation packages, and technical reports.
  • Support other discipline activities as necessary.
  • Mentor young staff and provide performance input.
  • Develop skills to lead project development in the future.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and CAD Drafters on projects.

Job Description:

Parsons is now hiring for a Roadway Engineer II to join our Minneapolis office, supporting our growing portfolio of major transportation projects!

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Independently develop and/or supervise the creation of contract documents for transportation projects meeting client quality requirements –including defining the problem, establishing scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status

  • Analyzing design issues and providing detail design that satisfies client’s need

  • Delivering products consisting of detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses

  • Supporting other discipline activities as necessary

  • Mentoring young staff members and providing performance input

  • Developing skill sets to lead project development in the future

  • Providing technical guidance to young engineers and CAD Designer/Drafters on project

What Required Qualifications You'll Bring:
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)

  • 5+ years of related work experience

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate may be required

  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with road engineering

  • Experience in developing 3D finite elements models

  • DOT Road and wall design experience

What Desired Qualifications You’ll Bring:
  • Excellent written and communication skills

  • Ability to lead and motivate team members in completion of project tasks

  • Provide training and lead technical discussions related to roadway engineering

  • DOT pre-certified in Road and culvert design

Salary Range: $74,800.00 - $130,900.00
