Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Roadway Engineer I to support major regional road and highway projects with a remote work arrangement, reporting to our Kansas City roadway group.

The position requires a Civil Engineering degree, 3+ years of roadway experience, and an EIT certificate. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation Geopak or OpenRoads is essential, with PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers on roadway design and related calculations
• Develop conceptual and detailed roadway designs using industry software
• Perform design calculations, material quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates
• Assist in preparing engineering plans, specifications, and requisitions for materials and services
• Support project delivery and coordination with internal teams

Job Description:

Parsons is now hiring for a Roadway Engineer I to join our team supporting major regional road and highway projects in the Kansas City area. This position is a remote role, reporting into and collaborating closely with our Kansas City-based roadway group.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Collaborate often withsenior engineers, perform various roadway engineering and design assignments requiring the application of engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity
• Utilize drafting and modeling software, tools, and programs, to develop conceptual and detailed designs
• Perform design calculations including material quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates
• Assist in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects
• Assist in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

What Skills & Qualifications You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
• 3 years or more of related work experience with road and highway projects
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is essential
• Professional Engineer (PE) Registration is desirable, but not required
• Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation Geopak and/or OpenRoads, is required
• The ability to communicate and effectively participate as part of an engineering team

Salary Range: $63,600.00 - $111,300.00
