Job summary

Lochmueller Group is seeking a Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation team in the Kansas City area. The role targets engineers with 2-4 years of roadway design experience, offering opportunities to develop technical and professional skills.

You'll collaborate with experienced transportation professionals, work on projects for local communities and state agencies, and pursue PE licensure with mentorship and project exposure throughout your career.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 2-4 years of experience in roadway and/or highway design.
• Engineer Intern (EI) certification preferred.
• Candidates actively pursuing PE licensure are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads Designer.
• Familiarity with roadway design plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to planning, design, and delivery of roadway and transportation improvement projects.
• Perform engineering analyses and prepare design calculations, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Develop roadway design plans using Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads Designer.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions meeting client objectives.
• Participate in project meetings and collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Support project managers in preparation of project documentation, technical reports, and deliverables.
