Job summary

Alexander Associates are representing an established engineering consultancy that’s looking to add an experienced Roadway Design Engineer PE to their Transportation team in Texas. The role will be heavily involved in the design and delivery of TxDOT roadway and multiple transportation projects across Texas.

• 5-10+ years in roadway/transportation engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with TxDOT transportation projects.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
• AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience beneficial.

• Support the design and delivery of TxDOT roadway and transportation projects.
• Develop roadway geometry, alignments, and corridor designs.
• Prepare and review plans, calculations, and technical reports.
• Develop quantities, cost estimates, and supporting documentation.
• Support PS&E development through project delivery and coordination with disciplines.

Alexander Associates are representing an established engineering consultancy that’s looking to add an experienced Roadway Design Engineer PE to their growing Transportation team. This position will be heavily involved in the design and delivery of TxDOT roadway and multiple transportation projects across Texas.

Salary: $105,000-$150,000 DOE + Benefits

Job Specifications:

Support the design and delivery of roadway and transportation projects, including:

• TxDOT roadway, highway and multimodal transportation projects
• Roadway geometry, alignments and corridor design
• Horizontal and vertical alignments
• Grading, drainage and associated roadway infrastructure
• Prepare and review engineering plans, calculations and technical reports
• Develop quantities, cost estimates and supporting project documentation
• Support PS&E development through various stages of project delivery
• Apply TxDOT and other relevant engineering standards throughout the design process
• Coordinate with roadway, drainage, traffic, structural and other technical disciplines
• Work alongside project managers, clients and reviewing agencies
• Support quality control and technical reviews of engineering deliverables
• Respond to design comments and support engineering activities throughout project delivery

Key Requirements:

• 5-10+ years’ experience within Roadway/Transportation engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Strong background working on TxDOT transportation projects
• Experience with roadway design, plan production and PS&E development
• Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
• AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience beneficial
• Strong understanding of TxDOT design standards and specifications
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Proposal writing and/or business development experience beneficial
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline
