Job summary

Alexander Associates is seeking a Transportation Engineer/Roadway Engineer EIT for their Dallas–Fort Worth team to work on TxDOT and municipal transportation projects across North Texas.

The position offers a salary range of $75,000–$105,000 DOE plus benefits. Candidates should have 3+ years of roadway/transportation experience and EIT or ability to obtain in the near term. MicroStation/OpenRoads experience is preferred and Texas PE licensure is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in roadway/transportation engineering.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain in near term.
• TxDOT and/or Texas municipal transportation experience preferred.
• Desire to progress toward Texas PE licensure.

Responsibilities

• Support design and delivery of roadway and transportation projects.
• Coordinate with roadway, drainage, traffic and structural engineering teams.
• Prepare engineering calculations, plans, specifications and cost estimates.
• Assist with development of PS&E packages.
• Support projects from preliminary design through final construction documents.

Job description

Alexander Associates are representing an established engineering consultancy that’s looking to add a Transportation Engineer/Roadway Engineer EIT to their Dallas-Fort Worth team. This position will provide the opportunity to work on the design and delivery of TxDOT, municipal and regional transportation infrastructure projects across North Texas.

Salary: $75,000-$105,000 DOE + Benefits

Job Specifications

Support the design and delivery of roadway and transportation projects, including:

• Highway, arterial and municipal roadway projects
• Roadway geometry, alignments and corridor design
• Horizontal and vertical alignments
• Grading, drainage and associated roadway infrastructure
• Signing, pavement markings and traffic control plans
• Prepare engineering calculations, plans, specifications and cost estimates
• Assist with the development of PS&E packages
• Support projects from preliminary design through final construction documents
• Coordinate with roadway, drainage, traffic and structural engineering teams
• Work on projects for TxDOT, municipalities and other transportation agencies
• Perform technical analysis under the direction of senior engineers and project managers
• Assist with agency coordination and construction-phase engineering

Key Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience within Roadway/Transportation engineering
• EIT certification, or ability to obtain in the near term
• Previous roadway or highway design experience
• TxDOT and/or Texas municipal transportation experience preferred
• Experience with roadway geometry, grading and plan production
• Experience with MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer preferred
• Understanding of transportation engineering design standards and construction documentation
• Desire to progress toward Texas PE licensure
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline
