Job summary

HMB, a leading transportation firm in Nashville, seeks a Roadway EIT to work on capstone-type projects and be client facing from day one. You will drive design, analysis and documentation while collaborating with engineers and project teams.

The role emphasizes coordination with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies and utilities, including preparation of permits and construction documents, ensuring schedules and budgets are met.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in roadway design.
• Experience with OpenRoads Designer preferred.
• EIT Certification preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong technical and organizational skills.
• Proficient in spreadsheets and standard word processing software.
• Works well in multidisciplinary teams and meets deadlines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and preparation of technical reports, analysis/calculations and construction documents under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer.
• Preparation of accurate presentation, design, details and construction documents.
• Preparation of permit applications and submittal packages to Agencies having jurisdiction.
• Coordination with clients, subconsultants, permitting agencies, utility providers, contractors and other parties associated with the project.
• Development and adherence to project scope, schedules, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Working under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer as a member of a team in the design and preparation of technical reports, analysis/calculations and construction documents.
