Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Raleigh, NC seeks a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Roadway team. This role focuses on roadway and water resources projects, with opportunity to lead and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on public sector projects.

The position requires a P.E. license or the ability to obtain within 12 months, and experience with Civil/ hydrology software. Not a remote role; strong communication and project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of engineering design experience
  • P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Experience with civil design software: Microstation/OpenRoads, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, HydroCAD, SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Support Roadway and water resources practices with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Work on roadway projects including new alignment, widening and pedestrian improvements
  • Prepare hydraulic/hydrology studies, drainage reports, and design plans for roadway water resources
  • Draft memorandums, regulatory submittals (including CLOMR/LOMR to FEMA), and master plans
  • Assist with scopes of work and budgets
  • Collaborate with jurisdictions and contractors to build strong relationships
