Job summary

Consor is seeking a Drainage Design Engineer to apply hydrologic and hydraulic principles to support drainage design for transportation projects. You will work under senior engineers and contribute to roadway drainage solutions, including stormwater conveyance, culverts, channels, and detention facilities.

Responsibilities include preparing plans and calculations, ensuring compliance with agency standards, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and performing analyses and cost takeoffs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Civil/Structural Engineering required.
  • 5–10+ years in transportation drainage (TxDOT projects).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency in Microstation ORD, AutoCAD and Civil3D.
  • Proposal writing/marketing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review drainage design plans, hydrologic/hydraulic calculations, and reports for transportation projects (roadway, bridge, culvert drainage).
  • Apply drainage design standards, criteria, and agency guidelines for accuracy, compliance, and constructability.
  • Coordinate with roadway, structural, environmental, and other teams to integrate drainage requirements into project design.
  • Perform hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, storm sewer and culvert sizing, cost estimates, and quantity takeoffs for drainage components.
  • Assist with QA reviews, address drainage-related design comments, and support plan reviews or field questions.
