Job summary

Felsburg Holt & Ullevig, Inc. seeks an experienced mid-level Civil/Transportation Engineer to support project design and management for multimodal corridors, roadways, and trails. You will use Civil3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads and participate in business development activities.

The position is based in Des Moines, IA or Omaha, NE, with opportunities for mentorship, growth, and an accelerated career path for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• 5+ years of Transportation Engineering experience in Roadway Design.
• Professional Engineer license or active pursuit in Iowa or Nebraska; SD or KS a plus.
• Experience with Civil3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong project management and client interaction skills; mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Oversee data collection, technical analyses and written documentation.
• Participate in and present project findings in client meetings and hearings.
• Work in multi-disciplinary teams across the region to evaluate alternatives and prepare plans.
• Assist with or lead project management duties including schedules, budgets, invoices and client communications.
• Use CAD software as the primary transportation design modeler for projects.
• Maintain quality system tasks per the FHU quality manual.
• Mentor junior team members and support proposals and business development.
