Job summary

AECOM’s Transportation team in Atlanta is seeking a Roadway Design Lead Engineer to drive day-to-day production, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and deliver high-quality roadway designs on schedule. Hybrid work options available.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 8 years of roadway design experience, and a Georgia PE license. You'll mentor engineers and participate in project staffing to ensure successful project delivery across Georgia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline with 8 years of roadway design experience.
• Georgia PE License is required.
• GSWCC Level II Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day roadway engineering production, assign tasks, and maintain schedule and quality.
• Coordinate roadway design activities across disciplines for integrated deliverables.
• Perform detailed QC reviews of calculations, models, plans, quantities, and estimates.
• Ensure compliance with GDOT standards and Plan Development Process requirements.
• Track scope, schedule, and budget; communicate risks to the PM.
• Develop design criteria and technical approaches.
• Mentor junior engineers to support team performance.
• Participate in fee, scope, and staffing discussions for project delivery.
