Job summary

Arcadis in New York City is seeking an entry-level Transportation Roadway Intern to join our Design & Engineering teams and be mentored by technical experts in roadway transportation design.

In this role you will prepare conceptual designs and construction plans, handle geometric design of highways and streets, drainage design, and assist with transportation planning reports and safety studies, utilizing MicroStation/OpenRoads.

Qualifications

• Currently seeking Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or another closely related field.
• Preferred Qualifications: EIT Certification.
• Experience using OpenRoads.
• Understanding of geometric and traffic operations principles incl. AASHTO, MUTCD and state DOT policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual designs and construction plans using Open Roads design software.
• Create engineering designs involving highways and streets geometric design and drainage.
• Complete construction engineering and inspection tasks.
• Collect traffic and highway field data and assist with transportation planning reports and safety studies.
