Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a Roadway Intern in Omaha, Nebraska, to gain real-world engineering experience under a senior engineer.

You will assist with detailed designs of urban and rural roadway projects and engage with mentoring programs and local colleagues in community service events. Ideal candidates are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program with a strong attention to detail, solid problem-solving and communication skills, and basic Microsoft Office proficiency.

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Attention to detail.
• Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Gain real-world experience by applying standard Engineering techniques and procedures through the creation and submission of technical reports, plans, specifications and calculations.
• Work under the guidance and direct supervision of a senior-level Engineer to assist the team with detailed designs of urban and rural roadway projects.
• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals' programs.
• Participate with local colleagues in community service events and activities.
• Perform other duties as needed.
