Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers in Boise, Idaho seeks a Civil Roadway Design Intern to work with experienced engineers on transportation projects, gaining hands-on experience in roadway design, plan development, and calculations while learning how design decisions respond to agency standards, site conditions, and constructability. The internship lasts 10–12 weeks during the summer with full-time hours.

You will assist with alignments, plans, quantities, and cost estimates, and use Civil 3D,

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA in undergrad coursework.
• Effective written and verbal communication, collaborative work style.

Responsibilities

• Assist roadway design tasks including horizontal/vertical alignments and drainage.
• Prepare plans, profiles, cross sections, details, quantities and cost estimates.
• Support design file organization and deliverables using CAD software.
• Apply agency design criteria and project requirements to real projects.
• Coordinate with disciplines such as drainage, utilities, structures and traffic.
