KPFF Consulting Engineers seeks a Civil Roadway Design Intern in Boise, Idaho to gain hands-on experience with roadway design, plan development, and construction support. You will assist with roadway design tasks, prepare plans and quantity estimates, and support CAD workflows under senior engineers' guidance.
The internship emphasizes learning agency standards, site conditions, and constructability, with a 10-12 week summer term and mentoring support.
As a Civil Roadway Design Intern at KPFF, you will work alongside experienced engineers and technical staff on transportation infrastructure projects. You will gain hands‑on experience with roadway design, plan development, engineering calculations, and construction support while learning how design decisions respond to agency standards, site conditions, constructability, and the needs of the traveling public.
Interns primarily work in a standard office setting with occasional travel to bridge and project sites.
Field visits may involve walking, standing, kneeling, climbing slopes or embankments, and navigating uneven terrain.
Must comply with all safety requirements in the office and on project sites.
The internship typically runs 10-12 weeks during the summer, with full‑time hours.
