Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers in Boise, Idaho is seeking an Entry-Level Civil/Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation group. You will contribute to the design, planning, and execution of transportation projects for Idaho public agencies, supporting multidisciplinary teams and mentoring from experienced engineers.

You will work on plans, profiles, cross sections, quantity calculations, and cost estimates, coordinate with drainage, utilities, structures, and traffic disciplines, and participate in

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• Up to two years of experience in civil/transportation engineering; Idaho experience preferred.
• Previous work or internship in transportation engineering preferred.
• Knowledgeable in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads; Idaho tools preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, planning, and execution of transportation engineering projects, ensuring adherence to ITD and local standards.
• Prepare plans, profiles, cross sections, details, quantity calculations, and cost estimates under mentorship.
• Develop and organize design files and technical deliverables using civil design software.
• Coordinate with drainage, utility, structures, traffic, survey, environmental, and other project disciplines.
• Participate in field visits, site assessments, and construction observations while following applicable safety requirements.
• Contribute to team discussions, quality-control reviews, and collaborative problem-solving.
