Job summary

Consor in McAllen, TX seeks an Engineering Designer to lead portions of roadway, multimodal, and complete streets design from concept to final design. You will apply advanced engineering and design principles to develop innovative, cost-effective solutions that meet client objectives and regulatory requirements.

You will mentor junior staff, deliver high-quality design documents, and ensure plans are accurate, constructible, and aligned with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering.
• 2+ years of Texas transportation engineering design experience.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
• Experience with MicroStation & OpenRoads Designer.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and preparation of detailed transportation design plans, specifications, engineering reports, and construction cost estimates.
• Perform advanced engineering and design calculations, analyses, and modeling for geometric design and multimodal facilities.
• Serve as a technical lead, coordinating with disciplines to integrate project elements and resolve design conflicts.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior designers and technicians.
• Conduct quality control reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and milestone delivery.
• Evaluate design alternatives and develop cost-effective solutions to improve safety and mobility.
• Participate in client meetings and coordination sessions to present design progress.
