Job summary

Atlas is seeking a Roadway Engineer II to support planning, design, and delivery of transportation projects in Georgia. You will contribute to roadway, drainage, grading, and site development work, performing analyses and developing construction plans with MicroStation and OpenRoads under senior guidance.

The role requires a BSCE or related field, 2–6 years of transportation experience, and strong communication and writing skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or closely related field.
2–6 years of professional experience in transportation engineering.
Georgia Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) preferred; licensure in Georgia within six months acceptable.
Strong oral communication and technical writing skills; proficient with Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

Review survey reports, maps, drawings, and other data to support project planning and design.
Prepare preliminary roadway, drainage, site development, and grading designs under senior guidance.
Develop project layouts and design concepts to meet client objectives.
Ensure designs comply with regulatory standards and jurisdictional requirements.
Use MicroStation and OpenRoads to prepare drawings and documents.
Communicate project status and engineering input to managers and stakeholders.
Collaborate with planners, surveyors, civil engineers, and other team members.
Support project delivery through coordination across disciplines.
