Job summary

VIAS Infrastructure, PLLC is seeking a Roadway Design Engineer to join our Charlotte-area team. You will design roadways, profiles, cross-sections, and construction documents for transportation projects, and perform horizontal/vertical alignment and grading using ORD, with coordination across utilities and drainage teams.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 2+ years of roadway design experience, ORD proficiency, and familiarity with NCDOT standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in roadway/transportation design.
• Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer (ORD) is required.
• Experience with NCDOT projects and design standards.
• Familiarity with AASHTO design guidelines and roadway geometric design principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.

• Assist in preparation of permits, right-of-way documents, and technical specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of drainage design and utility coordination as it relates to roadway projects
• Familiarity with MicroStation and other Bentley design tools
