Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. seeks a Construction Inspector to provide inspection services for transportation projects in Columbia, MD. The role requires verifying work and materials against plans, performing measurements and calculations, and preparing as-builts during project progress.

Ideal candidates hold a construction-related degree or equivalent experience, plus SHA Yellow Card and MARTCP certifications. Heavy lifting, outdoor work, and travel across the state are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in construction management or related field with relevant certifications.
• Alternative: 4+ years of relevant experience in roadway construction if no degree.
• Certifications in SHA Yellow Card and MARTCP are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection services for transportation construction projects.
• Ensure all work and materials meet proposal, plan, and specification requirements.
• Perform calculations, take measurements, verify weights and volumes as needed.
• Plot and run cross sections and prepare as-builts during progress.
• Perform materials testing and document inspected work daily.
