Job summary

The City of Roswell is seeking a Street & Highway Inspector to enforce city, state, and federal regulations on road construction projects in Roswell, GA. This full-time role requires coordinating project activities, documenting daily progress, and ensuring ADA compliance.

Responsibilities include inspecting grading, paving, drainage, curb and gutter work, attending plan reviews, and liaising with contractors, utilities, and residents. A focus on safety and regulatory knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• Three (3) years of experience in construction inspection.
• Minimum two (2) years in roadway construction, bridge repair and maintenance.
• Ability to obtain Level 1B Certification for Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control and Work Zone Safety within six months.
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License and acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all aspects of construction projects and maintains project logs.
• Inspects grading, paving, drainage, curb and gutter work for conformance with plans.
• Mediates issues between contractors and citizens; serves as liaison with departments and residents.
• Attends pre-construction and plan review meetings; reviews plans to ensure adherence.
• Maintains safety procedures and keeps up-to-date knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
