Job summary

Jackson County Missouri is seeking a Public Works inspector to conduct field inspections of roadway construction projects, bridges, and related structures. You will coordinate material testing to ensure quality control and support engineering design work for ongoing construction programs.

The role requires an Associate’s Degree and 4 years of relevant experience, plus a Missouri driver’s license and background/drug screening clearance.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Four years of experience in road construction and quality control inspection, drafting and plan specification design, project management or the combined experience.
• Must possess/maintain valid Missouri Driver's License.
• Must submit to and pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections of roadway construction and reconstruction projects, bridges, culverts, and road maintenance.
• Coordinate testing of road construction materials to ensure QA standards are met.
• Assist with technical design work in support of construction projects.
• Inspect, document, and inventory bridges and structures according to Federal guidelines.
