Job summary

Gonzalez Companies, LLC is seeking a Transportation/Highway Construction Inspector to support Southeast Missouri projects, including Jackson. You will inspect highways, bridges, and roadways for compliance with DOT specs and safety requirements, review plans, and document field activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree preferred.
• Experience in transportation or civil construction inspection (1–5 years).
• Familiarity with DOT standards and inspection procedures.
• Knowledge of materials testing for asphalt, concrete, soils, and aggregates.
• Strong safety and field inspection protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspection of highways, bridges, and roadways for compliance with project specs and safety regulations.
• Review plans, shop drawings, and materials for conformance to designs and codes.
• Document field activities daily with reports, photos, and notes.
• Conduct material sampling and testing per DOT procedures.
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to resolve field issues.
