Job summary

CTL Engineering is seeking Technicians for Construction Inspection Services to support ODOT and other clients in Akron, OH. The role mixes field and laboratory work with some office duties, with travel across the Cleveland and northern OH region.

You’ll perform earthwork, concrete and asphalt inspections, material sampling and test reporting, under a Dept. Manager, while contributing to quality control and project documentation. This is a hands-on, collaborative position.

Qualifications

• 0–2+ years of construction inspection and testing experience.
• Familiarity with highway construction specifications is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver license and driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction engineering technician (inspection) services related to earthwork, concrete, asphalt and utility construction for ODOT, municipalities, and private sector clients.
• Perform engineering and construction field testing primarily roadway/bridge projects.
• Inspect and report on concrete pours, rebar placement, pipe replacements as examples.
• Inspect and sample construction materials.
• Prepare and maintain project records and reports.
• Assist Engineers in field during soil and materials investigations.
• Ensure that job site tests/observations, including quality control and quality assurance, are performed per contract documents.
