Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Construction Inspector for WVDOH projects in Bridgeport, WV. You will work under supervision on average-sized projects, performing daily field inspections and coordinating with contractors, clients, and team members to assure compliance with plans and specifications.

Responsibilities include preparing sketches for Field Engineer, documenting inspections, and maintaining records for closeout.

Qualifications

• Technical degree, diploma, or certificate in a related field, or equivalent construction experience.
• 3–5+ years of relevant construction inspection experience.
• WVTRET Accreditation Level II, III, or IV.
• Familiarity with WVDOT procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

• Inspect daily activities on multiple complexes to ensure contractor compliance with plans and specs.
• Prepare sketches and data for Field Engineer to use when changes are made.
• Coordinate inspections with contractor, client personnel, and stakeholders.
• Generate condition reports and document issues to attest to completion of inspection or tests.
• Manage deadlines and document closeout processes.
• Inspect construction features, measure dimensions, and calculate quantities.
• Review plans, RFIs, submittals, schedules, and pay applications.
