Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site field Inspector to perform inspections of highway construction activities at multiple project locations across the United States. The role requires reading plans, assessing materials, and ensuring compliance with the Quality Control Plan under supervision.

Travel up to 40% may be required depending on project demands. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and 2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; certifications from highway-related bodies may be required by client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel (domestic/international).
• Experience with reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings, and specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under supervision.
• Review contractor daily reports and QC procedures for conformance with plans and procedures.
• May sample and test soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt pavement to verify quantities and quality.
