Job summary

Burgess & Niple in Indianapolis is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our team of senior professionals in an established A/E firm that values employee input and collaboration. You will monitor contractors, perform on-site material testing, and help ensure quality and compliance on roadway, structure, and bridge projects.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain INDOT technician certifications in the first year.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
All required jurisdictional certificates and statement requirements.
Valid driver's license.
Use of general software packages, Microsoft Office.
Ability to obtain all 6 INDOT Certified Technician Courses in first year of employment.

Responsibilities

Monitor contractor work to ensure quality control and contract compliance on roadway, structure, and bridge projects.
Monitor contractor operations for compliance with contract terms and specifications.
Provide general inspections of construction labor and subcontracted tasks.
Prepare reports on work activities, contractor labor/equipment, and material quantities.
Perform on-site material testing and verification.
Calibrate and maintain testing equipment.
Create and compile close-out records for submission.
Perform other duties as assigned.
