Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is hiring a Roadside Technician to service commercial tires for semi-truck fleets. Dispatches to customers to repair or change tires, with roadside duties during calls. When there are no service calls, you will assist with mounting, shop cleaning, and other general tasks.

Location is Wayland, MI. Compensation starts at $21 per hour (trained) or $24 per hour (experienced), with rotating on-call and double time per call, plus overtime and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and meet commercial driver qualification requirements.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair commercial tires (dismount, mount, repair).
• Perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as required.
• Inflate tires to prescribed PSI for load requirements.
• Respond to after-hours service requests during on-call rotations with a high rate of acceptance.
• Comply with OSHA regulations and safety requirements, wear PPE, use tire cages, and follow safety policies.
• Assist with shop maintenance, order mounting, and general duties during downtime.
