Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation, Ozona Maintenance Office, is seeking a Maintenance Section Supervisor to oversee road maintenance operations across Crockett County. You will lead a crew of 14, plan assignments, inspect projects, manage equipment and budgets, and handle public concerns while ensuring safety.

The role requires driving a state vehicle, strong leadership, and the ability to respond to emergencies after hours, with a focus on safety at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 7–8 years of roadway maintenance or construction-related experience for Supervisor I/II.
• Substitutions for experience allowed with related education or training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee contracted maintenance activities and inspect progress.
• Plan, coordinate and implement emergency response to weather, accidents, or hazardous material spills.
• Manage budgets, resources, and personnel; assign projects and monitor safety compliance.
• Train staff and supervise both technical and clerical employees; handle public and official inquiries.
