Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in construction, road maintenance, or related heavy labor is expected.
• Ability to read maps (e.g., Thomas Brothers) and interpret blueprints or road maps.
• Knowledge of traffic control and related safety protocols is required.
• Diligence in following safety procedures and regulations is essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of crews and the traveling public with proper traffic control measures.
• Safely operate vehicles and a range of construction equipment.
• Provide guidance to Road Maintenance Worker I's and coordinate team efforts.
• Prepare surfaces for asphalt overlay and perform shoulder maintenance and guardrail installation.
• Complete drainage repairs and maintenance including pipes, catch basins, and culverts.
• Shovel, rake, and handle materials such as gravel and asphalt in varying conditions.
• Operate landscape equipment like trimmer, chainsaw, and other tools as needed.
• Assist in operating Vactor equipment and participate in snow/ice removal when required.
