Job summary

Maine Department of Transportation in Hancock, ME is seeking Transportation Workers to keep roads, bridges, and highways safe and functional. You will learn and perform roadwork tasks across seasons, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Shall obtain and retain a valid Class B State of Maine license during the initial six-month probationary period.
• Ability to become a certified snow fighter within 12 months.
• Ability to obtain flagger certification within a specified amount of time.

Responsibilities

• Keep roadways and bridges safe and effective.
• Perform roadwork tasks including culvert replacement, road repairs, and plowing in winter.
• MaineDOT provides paid CDL training and Snowfighter training.
• Work long hours in all types of weather to ensure public safety.

Skills

18+ years

High school diploma

Class B license within 6 months

Snow fighter certification within 12 m

Flagger certification when required
