Job summary

Ohio Department of Public Safety - Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Findlay, OH is seeking a Driver License Examiner 1 to conduct road tests and evaluate applicants for license eligibility. The role involves instructing applicants on maneuvers, administering tests for multiple license classes, and handling test data in BMV systems.

Reporting location is Findlay and work hours include a Tuesday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., with union OCSEA.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• 1 course or 3 months of experience in human/public relations; valid Ohio Class 'D' Driver License.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Conducts examination of applicants for vehicle operator's license during road testing.
• Instructs applicants in maneuvers to be performed during testing.
• Administers driving tests for class D license, motorcycle, moped, or other exams as required by the BMV.
• Evaluates and grades applicants' ability to drive.
• Utilizes BMV computer systems to enter applicant information and manage tests and appointments.
