Job summary

Ohio Department of Public Safety - Bureau of Motor Vehicles/Driver Exam Services/District 1 Findlay is seeking a Driver License Examiner 1 to evaluate applicants, administer and grade driving tests, and enter data into BMV systems for various license classes and endorsements.

Role requires formal arithmetic education, English proficiency, a Ohio Class D license, and 21+ years old; full-time, with evening/weekend hours as posted, at Findlay location.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes calculating fractions, decimals & percentages and in reading, writing & speaking English.
• AND 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in human/public relations, valid Ohio Class 'D' Driver License.
• AND must be 21 years of age per Section 4507.05 (A) (2) (B).
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

• Conducts examination of applicants for vehicle operator's license by accompanying applicant in vehicle during road testing.
• Instructs applicant in maneuvers to be performed during testing.
• Administers driving tests to applicants for class D license, motorcycle license, moped license, restricted license & other exams as required by the BMV.
• Evaluates & grades applicant's ability to drive.
