Job summary

Transdev North America in Dallas is seeking a Road Supervisor to assist Operations and Safety, providing drivers with timely instructions and coaching to uphold safety on every route.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, a valid CDL, and 2–3 years of supervisory transit experience, plus basic MS Office skills for scheduling and reporting duties.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
  • 2–3 years transit supervisory experience preferred.
  • Computer literate with basic MS Office.
  • Willing to work shifts or flexible schedules.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing under 49 CFR Part 40.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate job requirements to drivers.
  • Schedule daily routes and submit evaluation reports.
  • Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations and report safety violations.
  • Develop and host driver training and safety courses.
  • Observe drivers and document safety issues.
  • Liaison between drivers, customers and organization.
  • Monitor driver safety and performance per policy.
  • Assist Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance and drug testing.
  • Drive routes periodically.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Transdev in Dallas, Texas is hiring a Road Supervisor. Our Road Supervisors assist the Operations and Safety teams with the routes and provide Operators with timely instructions and responses. We are seeking service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
  • Day to day scheduling, counseling, and submitting evaluation reports to local management.
  • Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations; assist drivers in preparing accident reports, OSHA reports and safety violations documents.
  • Develop and host driver training and safety courses; train new drivers and retrain drivers involved in accidents.
  • Observe drivers on the road - correct safety problems on the scene while documenting violations.
  • Liaison between drivers and both the customers and organization in customer service concerns.
  • Evaluate and monitor driver safety and performance in compliance with legal, employment and labor policy matters.
  • Assist Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance—drug testing and recordkeeping.
  • Drive routes periodically.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License
  • Supervisory experience with hourly employees; 2-3 years transit supervisory experience preferred
  • Computer literate—basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements
  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions—100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
