Job summary

MTM Transit in Redding, CA is hiring a Road Supervisor to oversee daily fleet operations and ensure regulatory compliance. You’ll monitor driver performance, fleet maintenance, and incident responses, while providing on‑road support and service improvements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; CDL with Air Brakes and Passenger Endorsement preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Valid DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening required.
  • Experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • No DUI/DWI; no reckless driving in past 7 years; background check required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee on-time performance measures of drivers daily.
  • Provide oversight of fleet maintenance program.
  • Coordinate data and photo collection at accident scenes.
  • Investigate and assist with accident determinations.
  • Assist drivers with questions, customer assistance and on-road support.
  • Provide management with route and schedule effectiveness reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

The Road Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all fleet operations meet company standards and are in compliance with all governmental or regulatory standards. Ensure efficient mechanical operation and appearance of each vehicle is maintained. Monitor all accident and injury investigations. Monitor comments and complaints of passengers and operators regarding service, especially feedback regarding the safety of passengers. Ensure all daily routes are supplied with drivers. Develop utilization reports to establish cost effective routes and schedules to meet the needs of the customer and client.

Hourly Pay: $28.00/hr Location: 3333 South Market Street Redding, CA 96001 Shift: Candidates must available 7 days a week. Operations runs from 4:30am-10:30pm.

What You’ll Need:
  • Experience, Education & Certifications: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in a related field preferred
  • Must possess a valid CDL with Airbrakes and Passenger Endorsement
  • Experience working in a supervisory role preferred
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
  • No DUI or DWI convictions
  • No Reckless driving in the past 7 years
  • No more than 3 moving violations or accidents within the last 3 years
  • Must pass criminal background check (no history of violent criminal (felony or misdemeanor) convictions
  • In the event of previous license revocation, you must have at least 3 full subsequent years of post-reinstatement with no violations
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Regular attendance is required
Skills:
  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, Drug & Alcohol and FTA safety regulations preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of accident investigation preferred
  • Knowledge of Safety and training practices and procedures
  • Ability to communicate, teach and mentor employees
  • Must be able to demonstrate conflict resolution skills
  • Quick to process information and make adjustments or recommendations
  • Skills in the use of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel and other Microsoft applications
What You’ll Do:
  • Oversee on time performance measures of drivers, monitor driving and safety practices of drivers daily
  • Provide oversight of fleet maintenance program
  • Respond and coordinate data and photo collection at accident and incident scenes
  • Investigate and assist with accident determination
  • Assist drivers with questions, customer assistance and overall on the road support
  • Assist customers with information and complaint resolution
  • Provide management with reports to assist with the evaluation of route and schedule effectiveness
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required
