Job summary

MTM Transit in Austin, TX seeks a Manager, Safety & Resolution to oversee drive cam systems, review video footage, and coach operators. You will analyze safety events, implement corrective actions, and partner with Safety, Training, and Operations leaders to raise safety performance and compliance.

The role emphasizes data-driven coaching, incident review, and ongoing safety program enhancement in a fast-paced transportation environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience in transportation operations, safety management, quality assurance, coaching, driver training, or related field
  • Experience reviewing video monitoring systems, telematics, GPS, or drive cam technology
  • Experience conducting performance coaching and corrective action discussions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Drive Cam Program Management
  • Manage intake, review, and retention of video footage, ensuring timely analysis of safety events, customer incidents, accidents, and operational deviations
  • Evaluate incidents involving distracted driving, speeding, harsh braking, seatbelt compliance, following distance, cell phone usage, and other safety-related behaviors
  • Classify and document events in accordance with MTM Transit policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of event reviews, coaching activities, and performance outcomes
  • Operator Coaching & Development
  • Produce actionable data points and trend analyses to support operational management, targeted driver retraining, and continuous safety improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate with Safety, Training, and Operations leadership to implement corrective actions, including coaching, retraining, and disciplinary measures when warranted
  • Conduct coaching sessions with operators to address risky driving behaviors and reinforce safe driving practices
  • Deliver constructive feedback using a coaching-first approach that promotes accountability and improvement
  • Develop individualized performance improvement plans when necessary
  • Recognize and promote positive driving behaviors and safety achievements
  • Safety Monitoring & Reporting
  • Monitor operator safety performance metrics and identify trends requiring intervention
  • Prepare routine and ad-hoc reports for client summarizing trends and outcomes of related interventions and program effectiveness
  • Escalate significant safety concerns or policy violations to appropriate leadership
  • Partner with operational leaders to develop corrective action plans for recurring issues
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards, transportation regulations, and contractual requirements
  • Support investigations involving vehicle incidents, customer complaints, and safety concerns
  • Participate in root cause analysis activities and recommend preventive measures
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive video and performance data
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve operator safety programs, coaching processes, and drive cam utilization
  • Assist with development and delivery of safety training initiatives
  • Recommend enhancements to safety metrics, reporting capabilities, and performance management practices
  • Support organizational efforts to build and sustain a culture of safety and accountability

Job Description

The Manager, Safety & Resolution is responsible for the administration, review, and oversight of all vehicle camera systems, including systems deployed across multiple vehicle types or service modes. This role reviews vehicle camera footage, telematics data, and safety alerts to identify coaching opportunities, reinforce safe driving behaviors, and reduce preventable incidents. The Manager, Safety & Resolution serves as a key partner to transportation providers and operators, using data-driven insights and coaching techniques to improve safety performance, regulatory compliance, and overall service quality. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about driver development, safety culture, and continuous improvement. This position will be on site daily in our Austin, Texas location.

    • High school diploma or G.E.D.
    • 5+ years of experience in transportation operations, safety management, quality assurance, coaching, driver training, or related field

    • Experience conducting performance coaching and corrective action discussions
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
    • Valid Driver’s License
