Job summary

Maverick Transportation, LLC, in the Dallas area, seeks a Road Safety Manager with CDL to lead driver safety programs, ensure tarping/securement compliance, and enforce DOT regulations.

This role travels regionally (TX, OK, AR, LA) to identify safety needs, prepare reports, support accident investigations, and collaborate with the Safety Director. Requires CDL Class A and 2 years driving experience; benefits include health, 401k, and paid vacation.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age and have a high school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc., plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a Valid CDL and 2 years verifiable CDL driving combination Class A, local or OTR.
• Demonstrates ability to interpret company policies, DOT and procedures and apply them safely.

Responsibilities

• Ensures drivers follow tarping and securement procedures through load inspections and reports infractions.
• Assists drivers with securement and tarping; interprets policies, DOT rules, and procedures.
• Prepares safety reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; enforces regulations.
• Assists in accident investigations and participates in training to prevent recurrence.

Job Description:The Safety Department has an opening for a Road Safety Manager W/CDL in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area.GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONTo assist the Company's Drivers in adhering to and implementing company policies and procedures and DOT regulations. Travels to required geographical locations (TX, OK, AR, LA) for identification of appropriate business needs.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Ensures that each driver is following company tarping and securement procedures by conducting periodic load inspections and addressing, recording and reporting all infractions to the Director of Safety.2. Provides assistance to drivers by helping with securement and tarping problems, interpreting company policies, DOT and procedures as needed. Identify and anticipate Safety and Health concerns and Hazards by observing and surveying operational and occupational conditions; rendering opinions on new equipment and procedures; investigating violations and recommending preventive programs.3. Prepares Safety reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Complies with Federal, State, and Company Safety Regulations by interpreting standards; enforcing adherence to regulations; and advising management on needed actions.4. Assists in the investigation of accidents, by taking pictures, viewing the scene and other duties as needed. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending and participating in appropriate training.
