Job summary

Cerro Gordo County is seeking a General Maintenance Road Worker for the Secondary Road Department. A CDL with air brake endorsement is required, with heavy equipment experience preferred. The position offers a starting pay of $26.13 per hour and a typical 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. shift, with possible summer hours.

Qualifications

• CDL with air brake endorsement is required.
• Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment owned by the County as directed.
• Maintain assigned equipment.
• Make minor repairs to equipment not needing a trained mechanic.
• Perform work for other departments or agencies as assigned.
• Work non-standard hours including nights and weekends during emergencies.
• Report road deficiencies to Road Foreman.
• Attend schools and seminars as directed.
