Job summary

Calhoun County Government in Michigan seeks a Road Worker to support the maintenance of county roads year-round. You will perform construction, repairs, traffic control, and equipment operation to ensure public safety and reliable infrastructure.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid Michigan CDL with Air Brakes preferred, and the ability to work outdoors in varied conditions. Hybrid/onsite duties and overtime may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years driving experience; heavy equipment and snow plowing preferred.
• Basic computer skills for time entry and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Road construction and maintenance to support safe, efficient county roads.
• Operate and maintain road construction equipment and vehicles.
• Set up traffic control devices and work zones per MUTCD.
• Maintain and inspect trucks, lights, tires and related equipment.
• Assist with winter maintenance and drainage work.
• Drive on snow- and ice-covered roads; respond to emergencies.
