Job summary

Douglas County Public Works is seeking a full-time Road Maintenance Equipment Operator to operate loaders, backhoes, and other road maintenance machinery. The role includes routine maintenance, inspections, and material handling for road repair projects.

Preferred candidates have at least one year of experience with road maintenance equipment, strong safety knowledge, and the ability to work effectively with coworkers and the public. Onsite work at the Courthouse complex with benefits included.

Qualifications

• One year of experience operating road maintenance equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and traffic laws governing operation of equipment on public roads.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms.

Responsibilities

• Operate loader to load trucks with materials and backhoe for ditch cleaning and culvert work.
• Operate light to medium equipment including dump trucks, snow plows, water truck, and roller; perform pre-trip inspections.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on assigned equipment.
