Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Road Foreman to oversee the safe and efficient movement of trains and the supervision of T&E crews within assigned territory. The role includes managing records, training, and compliance with Amtrak, Federal, and State requirements, with tiered levels based on skills and experience.

The position requires oversight of safety plans, performance, and budget management, and may include geo-pay differentials depending on work location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• PTC Qualified.
• Minimum of 2 years operating experience in train or passenger service.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage locomotive engineers and crews.
• Oversee train operations and crew performance to ensure safe, efficient service.
• Ensure regulatory and policy compliance with operating rules and regulations.
• Manage engineer certification, recertification, and training programs.
• Promote and enforce safety initiatives and maintain employee records.
• Prepare reports and manage territory budget and communications.
