Job summary

Coastal Elite Pro is seeking a qualified truck driver to operate tractor-trailer units across long distances, including doubles and triples when applicable. You will conduct pre-trip inspections, hook/unhook trailers, and maintain accurate logs in line with DOT rules.

Ideal candidates have strong communication skills, can lift up to 100 pounds, and can work independently or in a team. Overnight stays and flexible hours may be required based on operations.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL with doubles/triples endorsements, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• Minimum 1 year of recent tractor-trailer driving experience or completion of a driver development program.
• Must have a clean MVR and comply with DOT regulations.
• Ability to operate long combination vehicles in applicable states.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

The role involves picking up and delivering trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations.

Responsibilities

• Operating tractor-trailer units, including doubles and triples where applicable
• Performing daily pre-trip and safety inspections
• Hooking/unhooking trailers and converter dollies
• Completing documentation and maintaining accurate logs
• Ensuring compliance with hazardous material regulations
• Following dispatch instructions and communicating about delays or issues
• Loading/unloading freight and performing chaining of tires if necessary
• Adhering to all laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Performing additional duties as required, which may include duties of city drivers or dock employees

Qualifications & Skills

• Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements
• At least 1 year of recent driving experience or completion of a driver development course
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and compliance with DOT regulations
• Ability to operate long combination vehicles in certain states
• Strong communication skills, physical ability to hook/unhook trailers, and lift up to 100 pounds
• Ability to sit for extended periods, follow instructions, and work independently or as part of a team

Work Conditions

The role involves long-distance driving in various weather conditions, exposure to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and DOT-regulated hazardous materials. Overnight stays may be required, and hours vary based on operational needs.
